of unsure talents

A friend insisted today i had talents.she left the details to be worked out later.That got me thinking.What is a talent? and are all talents equal? I concluded not only are they inexplicable but they also rest uneasily on the hierarchy of individual perception.
for instance would a talent in wild ideas trump talent in bed?would one be arrogant enough to insist upon being talented?
my talents are obscure but i have no dearth of talented company.
